So ... Rebekah, over at Rebekah Ashleigh tagged me for the "Few of your Favorite things" tag. Thanks, Rebekah!!! :D
The Rules:
-Write down ten of your favorite things
-Tag at least three others!
1.) Books. Yep, you all knew this was going to be on here. Right at the top. But seriously, I don't think I could survive very long without books. They're an escape from all the craziness that happens in real life. Every once in a while it's nice to get away and escape into another world. (Please tell me I'm not alone here!)
3.) The World War Two History Center. I have no words to describe how much I enjoy going to this place! The people are so friendly, their library is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. I mean, guys. A whole room filled with books exclusively about WWII? *nods ecstatically* YES PLEASE! This place has been such a help to me in my research, and talking to the "soldiers" at their annual battle reenactment is awesome as well!
4.) Writing. Because there is just something about putting words down on paper. It's a way I sort out my feelings, the way I communicate so much of what is on my heart, and of course it's an amazing way to get to know your character. ;) (Like, it's the only way to do that, I think. I might be wrong.)
5.) Music. Ask anyone in my family, I always have something playing, and more often than not it's music. Music, like books, has a way to take me away from reality. Or at least make my life so much more enjoyable. I mean, come on. Why just do algebra when you could be doing algebra and listening to your favorite music?! (Yes, I'm one of those weird people who listens to music during schoolwork.)
6.) My country. Because even though we have fallen so far from where we used to be, in this country, in America, we still have the freedom to worship God as we please. And that freedom should never be taken lightly.
7.) Return to the Hiding Place. It's just an awesome movie that everyone needs to watch!! And it's WWII. If you haven't figured it out by now, anything WWII holds a certain, unexplained fascination for me!
8.) Google docs, because than I don't have to worry about accidentally forgetting to click "save". I still have nightmares about that happening!
There was no way I was going to leave this favorite thing without a picture! Although ... I have no idea what he's doing with a pencil, since google docs is supposed to be on the internet ... |
9.) Emails and Letters. Nothing brightens my day quite like getting an email or a letter in the mail! :)
10.) God's plan for my life. Now I know this is a little weird to be a part of my "favorite things", but I am so thankful that I know God has a plan for my life, and the fact that He has everything under control is truly one of my favorite things.
I tag ...
Emily
Morgan
Hannah
And that's all for this post! I shall, Lord willing, be back tomorrow with a post about ... writing! Oh, and did you notice that I didn't list editing as a favorite thing? Well, that's 'cause it's not. But, you can hear more about it tomorrow. =)
Thank you so much, Jesseca!! I will get it up soon!! Thanks again!! =D
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Morgan!!I;m looking forward to seeing it!
DeleteSounds like a fun tag! I have a lot of the same favorite things. :)
ReplyDeleteIt is a lot of fun! And that's so cool we have similar favorite things! :D
DeleteThanks for doing the tag, Jesseca! :) I had fun reading it. :)
ReplyDeleteBooks are so wonderful! I don't think I could go for too long without them either. ;)
Music is so nice. I always have the radio playing when I'm in the car. :)
Emails and letters! Yes, those always brighten my day too! :D
I really liked your last answer. :) Knowing that God has a plan for our life and has everything under control should definitely be one of our favorite things!
Thanks again for doing the tag! Have a great weekend! :)
You're welcome! I had a on of fun doing it! :)
DeleteHaha, I'm glad you liked my answers. ;) I love it when we have things in common!!! :D
Thank you so much for tagging me, Jesseca!!! This looks really fun. :)
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Hannah! I'm looking forward to your answers!! :)
DeleteI agree with just about all of these! Fun post Jesseca! I especially liked that quote about friendship. :)
ReplyDeleteYay! I love it when I find people have things in common with me! :)
DeleteHehe, isn't it great? It made me smile when I first saw it. ;)
I enjoyed reading this! Don't worry about being alone on the whole book thing, you are SO not alone. That is why I read books—I love the escape. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with all of these. This was fun!
Oh good!!! I'm glad someone else understands the book thing!
DeleteHaha, looks like we have a lot on common. ;)
Yeeeesssssss. Books are so amazing. ;) No, you're not alone. Escaping into books is *pauses to think* wonderful...exhilarating...the onto reason I'm still somewhat sane. (Or maybe they're the reason I'm NOT sane? Whatever.) Love the Lemony Snicket quote!!
ReplyDeleteOh, yes! Friends are THE BEST. B-) Far away, or right here at home. :) Love that quote too!!
That WWII battle reenactment video from awhile back was soooo awesome. Can't imagine seeing it in person! :D
Writing is such a great way to sort out ones mixed-up feelings. But...it's not the only way to get to know your character. I mean, you can always just have a verbal conversation with them. Your family might be a little concerned, but hey, they probably already know you're "one of those" (a writer). xD
I LISTEN TO MUSIC DURING SCHOOL TOO!!! That's seriously the *only* reason I'm living through high-school math. -_-
Our country should definitely have been among my favorites. ;)
Oh goodness, yes. I just watched "Return to the Hiding Place" for the second time last night and was finally able truly, fully appreciate its epic-ness. Gaaahhhh. Peter! Hans! Addie! Frank!
Honesty, what would we do WITHOUT Google Docs.?? I really should give it a nickname... B-)
Emails and letters are so wonderful!!! :)
What a lovely addition to your favorites list!! God's plan! Isn't it refreshing to know He has everything planned out? :) Ooo, love the quote! Sounds familiar too... ;)
Loved the post, Jess! Pardon the run-on comment. :P
*takes a deep breath, gets a cup of coffee, and sits down to reply to the super long comment*
DeleteYES! I love "living" in another world, be it only for an hour or so! Isn't the quote awesome?!
They are!!! I'm so thankful for all the wonderful friends God has blessed me with! ^_^
Ahh, it's epic!!! You need to come visit in November. ;) I have a list of places to take you. B-)
Well .. that's true. But I still think writing is the best way to get to know your characters. ;) It keeps my parents from thinking I am insane. :P
YES. FINALLY SOMEONE WHO DOES IT! I'M NOT ALONE! Sorry. ;) But so far I've been the only person I know who likes to listen to music during school!
Yeah, our country is awesome. Not like it used to be by a long shot, but I still love it. :)
YES!!! Oh, I must watch it again! I've watched it twice, and I just adore it so much! It always puts me on an emotional roller coaster.
Google docs. Is. Awesome.
Yes, emails always brighten my day. Even more when they have a little part of a story in them. *hint, hint*
Yeah, that's one of my favorite quotes!!! :)
*looks back* Yep, I think I replied to all it! And don't be sorry, I love your long comments. and I always look forward to them! :)
*cringes* I know, I know, I owe you some story... But what would you say if I told you that what I'm working on will be around 6K-7K when finished? Which you'll get all at once. B-)
