September wrap-up

Hey all!! Welcome to October!!

~Life~
--We went to the lake for the weekend! It was so awesome and fun! We were also able to get together with a dear internet friend! After talking, we realized her and her family lived less then 5 minutes from where we were camping! We ended up seeing them every day we were there, and we attended their church on Sunday! (Which was so amazing. I love your church, Kate!!)

At the lake helping the littles in the water.

Friends!!!

And friends again. It was so awesome to see y'all!
Family (kids) pic!!

--I got Beta-readers! Which was exciting and kinda scary at the same time. ;)

--My grandpa had surgery and I was able to spend a glorious 2 days at the hospital with him and grandma! Now, before you think I'm insane, I'm not happy he had to have surgery; however I do so enjoy going to hospitals. I get to ask questions, learn more, and help out a bit whenever I'm allowed to. I love this part of hospital stays so much! Yeah, I'm looking into nursing school, sooo . . .

--Got stuck in a flash flood in our 12-passenger van. At night. When dad and 6 of my other siblings were over an hour away at the lake. (they went a day early; we stayed behind to go food shopping) Thankfully mom was driving, though it was still rather a rather terrifying experience!

--I got my driver's license! I was sooo worried I wouldn't pass, and the thought of having to go through it all again was terrifying to me. But many prayers and a few hours later, I got my license on Thursday the 15th!

Want to guess where the first place I drove to was? B-)

--My littlest sister, Kezzy turned nine! We went out and got our hair done together. It was so much fun! She's the sister I call "my little Joyanna". Those of you who have read A Question of Honor should get that. ;) (Joyanna is the main character in one of my WIP's)She has the same personality, spunk, etc.
She's getting sooo big!

~Reading~
The Domino Effect by Davis Bunn
The Betrayal by Douglas Bond
It took a War by Emily Ann Putzke
Ain't we got Fun by Emily Ann Putzke
When Love Arrives by Johnnie Alexander
Martain Hospitality by Abi Claire
Home by Elise Fitzpatrick
This Quiet Sky by Joanne Bischof
The Road we Traveled by Jane Kirkpatrick

I didn't get as much reading done as I would have liked. Oh, well. I'll have to make up for it in October! Though only reading 9 books is just awful.

 ~Writing~

I got 4,155 words written this month. which is soooo awful! *hides* I WILL work on more this next month. I have to. Surely when I'm traveling I'll have more time. I'll be sitting for hours, soooo . . . yeah. *shrugs* We'll see. BUT NANO IS NEXT MONTH! *Is super excited* I LOVE NANO!
However, I did get a short-story written this month. And I entered it in a contest. AND I WON FIRST PLACEEEE!!! :D  So I was super excited about that! And I'll post the story Monday, so y'all can read it then. :)
However, this month I did come across a ton of story inspiration due to pinterest. ;)

Don't those pictures just give you tons of ideas?!?! It' so much easier to find inspiration than to actually write. ;)

Well, folks, that's all for this month! I leave Monday for WA!!!! I'm so excited but also a little nervous about flying. Prayers would be greatly appreciated. :)
Tell me, how was your month? Read any good books? Write any amazing things? Excited for Autumn and October?!?! I am!! :D

  6. CONGRATULATIONS FOR GETTING YOUR DRIVER'S LICENSE! That's so exciting. *allll the confetti*

Hehe, I work at Starbucks, and it's hilarious that other people had the same thought as you. So far two girls have come through the drivethru right after getting their license. It made me happy. xD

  7. I hope we haven't been too scary of beta's so far ;) What helps me is remembering how nice I want people to be when critquing my story :))

    1. Ahh, no! You all have been wonderful! I'm convinced I got the best bunch of beta-readers ever!! Hehe, that's what I do when beta-reading for someone else, too. It helps so much to remember to treat their story how you'd want yours to be treated! :)

Thank you!! Yep, it is. It'snot fair. ;)

  8. Coffee. Driving. Writing. Editing. Your months sounds like my month except a camping trip instead of a wedding. XD
